Guide for Connecting to Galileo via Mac OS X

(FIRST TIME USERS:  If your Galileo account is new, please log in to the CNUADMIN domain using a Windows computer, change the password when prompted, and then log off of the Windows computer.  Follow the steps below.)

Log on to your Mac and look at the desktop.

In the finder, select "Go" from the menu, and then choose "Connect to Server."  Alternatively, you can press Command + K (⌘ + K) at the same time to invoke the "Connect to Server" dialog box.

In the  Connect to Server" dialog box, enter the following information exactly as it appears:

smb://galileo

and press the Return key or click the "Connect" button.

Your Mac should then initiate a connection to Galileo and then prompt you for your user name and password in the "SMB/CIFS File System Authentication" dialog box.

There are three fields in this dialog box.  Make sure they are completed with the following information:

Workgroup or Domain:  CNUADMIN

Name: (Your Galileo User Name)

Password: (Your Galileo Password)

Next, you will be prompted to Select the SMB/CIFS shared volume you want to connect to.

In the drop-down box, select the department you work for.  Then click OK.  A finder window will appear with your department's folders.

To "log off" of Galileo, simply drag the network icon on your desktop to the trash.
